You got me curious to try, but the GitHub page doesn’t say it runs on Mac, nor which programming languages it supports.

As for lightweight vs bloatware, doesn’t anyone remember when the FireFox browser first came out, it was a super fast, less feature-rich version of the Mozilla browser? Then it got fat. And when Google released the Chrome browser, many ditched FireFox for the same promise. And now Chrome is a memory hog which takes Gigabytes of memory.

Featuritis is a condition that is hard for projects to avoid. Maybe when a software project gets enough users, it becomes an inevitability. Enjoy it while it lasts, but hopefully it doesn’t happen to Lite.

As for VS Code I’ve heard of the bloating that many talk about, but never experienced it myself…probably because many developers are given machines with at least 8–16GB for the past several years. Last time I was given a machine with less than 8 was pre-2010s. It’s still lighter than Visual Studio 201X, which has been at times, my primary editor at work.
